Show minting
The minting as an event
With a show minting, MünzManufaktur turns your private or business event into an extraordinary experience. With a show minting we demonstrate a medal minting with a historical press at your event. The motif to be minted can be chosen by you and the product can later be an original gift.
Whether due to a thematic reference, a passionate attachment or out of pure curiosity and a desire for innovation - a show minting can be just the right highlight for your event for many reasons. Experiencing the traditional processing of medals or coins up close and personal is a unique experience and will certainly be remembered by your guests for a long time.

Historical minting art
The screw press used in show milling goes back to the concept of the threaded spindle developed by the Greek scholar Archimedes (287-212 BC).
A simple gearbox converts a rotary motion into a vertical displacement of the threaded spindle in the axial direction. By translating the rotary motion via a long lever arm to the inclined plane of the thread and a resulting transmission ratio, high compressive forces are achieved, which are used, among other things, for minting coins and medals.
The screw press is said to have first found this use around 1550, when the Augsburg goldsmith Max Schwab discovered it for his own purposes.
